INVEST IN STORIES THAT MATTER

House of Tales is seeking funding partners for a slate of original, issue-based short films and feature projects.

We have a proven track record of delivery, a pipeline of competition-validated scripts, and a filmmaker with the business experience to make every pound of investment count.

Why Fund Issue-Based Drama?

Issue-based drama is not a niche. It is the most commercially successful and culturally enduring genre in contemporary British film and television.

The projects that win BAFTAs, screen at BIFA, attract international co-production partners and build lasting audiences are those that have something real to say.

House of Tales makes exactly this kind of work, with craft, rigour and an authentic perspective that comes from lived experience.

Our Track Record

We don't ask for investment based on potential alone. We have a track record.

John is nine years old. Today he scored a hat-trick, imagined the scouts watching and his name on the front pages of the papers. Then he came home. In the bath, he heard everything; the shouting, the screaming, the violence. And then found his mum on the floor, bleeding.

3

Forgotten (working title) (Feature Documentary)

Producer - Charlotte Ginsborg

They didn't have the addiction. They just lived inside it. Forgotten follows a group of 'affected others' — the partners, children and siblings left behind — as they use applied theatre and storytelling to confront their past, reclaim their identities, and dare to imagine a future that belongs to them.

4

Dance (Short Film)

Writer - Kathryn Georghiou

Longlisted for the Unsolicited Scripts Short Film Fund

Sarah has given her whole life to ballet. Now in her mid-thirties, the twilight of a dancer's career, she finally lands the role she has always dreamed of. Then she discovers she is pregnant. Then, on opening night, she begins to miscarry. She goes on stage anyway.

Why Kathryn?

Funding a film is funding a person as much as a project.

Kathryn Georghiou is a classically trained actor (Mountview, full scholarship), an MA Creative Writing graduate (with Distinction), and a filmmaker with a proven delivery record.

She is also a former Director at London Business School, a background that is exceptionally rare among emerging filmmakers. She understands budgets, stakeholder management, and project delivery. She will not waste your investment.

She is also a festival judge (Lytham International Film Festival; Grand Jury, Film Festival Emeak), a signal that her peers in the industry trust her critical eye.
